eBay Vs Amazon

By Chris E Bowser

Do you plan on making good money selling items online and you were wondering which website is better, eBay or Amazon?

The truth is that neither eBay nor Amazon can actually claim to be the very best across the board.

A lot of merchants on eBay have wondered if selling on Amazon is worth it. Some sellers feel that the rules are just too much and would rather stick to selling their products on eBay. Some just need a point by point comparison in order to make up their minds.

eBay VS Amazon

• eBay is well known for auctions and Amazon is known for offering products with "fixed" prices. So which one is more preferable?

When it comes to selling antique items or very unique items that are always in high demand, eBay is indeed the best place to sell these items because you will get the real market value of the product you are selling.

Many items are not collectible items, these products are products that people purchase when they need it and many buyers will not auction for these items. Amazon offers these products at fixed prices.

Note - if you plan to sell antique items or unique items of value, eBay is better.

• When it regards return policies, Amazon shoppers are entitled to get a refund if the product purchased does not turn out the way the shoppers expected. The buyers get their money returned to them within 90 days.

eBay merchants are not required to return money back to the customer and are also free to fight out the matter with a fee resolution.

Note - with the eBay return policy, fussy shoppers will think twice before complaining about products that were sent to them in one piece and arrived with a minor scratch on the carton.

• With Amazon, merchants have no way of targeting prospective customers so as to promote their products. On the order hand, eBay sellers can successfully target customers and promote their products.

Note - what is the point of setting up shop and not reaching out to customers?

• The issue of sales taxes can be a real issue for sellers online. On Amazon, sellers are responsible for sales tax on every item that they sell on Amazon.om. Many times, sellers will have to add this cost to the price of the items that they are selling.

Whereas, eBay offers a system in the "Sell your Item" form in order to collect the sales taxes including the sale price - this way, the merchant's profit will not be affected.

Note - There are two sure things in life and that is, death and taxes. If you are searching for an easier way to pay sales taxes, then of course eBay is your best bet.

The most important thing to consider as a seller online is to choose a site that will give you a good advantage to sell your products at a profitable price. If not, you will just end up wasting your time and not making the type of money you should be making.
